"He may be arrogant, but Vince is just not a retard. Dr.Silver is also a wise person. They know better, then to send people right into a sec lab, while having Fenrir's Fangs 3 blocks away. I'd expect more of them, not just those 63 people"
Taking another sip of the cola, Vik stands up.
He aproaches the window, takes a look outside, then opens the window.
The breeze can be felt, as Vik unleashes a loud wolf hound.

The doorman heard a pounding on the door. These psychos have to stop scaring me like this. The kid-Agent rushed past him, out of breath. Nathan started running when he radioed in and hasn't stopped since. Making it to the bar, he quickly threw the paper on the table. "I found...a map....they look like...troop movements....and routes..." He unfolded the paper and showed the other Agents. It was a rough sketch of Black Dragon and Fenrir's Fangs territory. All over were arrows of various flavors in five colors. "I think these are route currently being used, it;s along these places we see the most dropped debris and dead bodies. But what gets me is these dotted lines...The go through buildings and other impassable places...One of these dotted lines even runs through the Wolf's Den."

Surprisingly unscathed, Carter pushes aside the door to the bar, lugging something behind him. Dropping onto a bar stool, he swings the item onto the counter.

"Jack, gimme a cold one, will ya'? I could use it..." He sighs, closing his eyes.

"Sure thing," he replies, sliding over a beer.

Taking a swig, Carter admires the loot he earned from his previous encounter with Big Red. Sliding a cleaning rag over his loot, he smiles, his first Big Red kill. The loot wasn't too shabby either: a shiny new M60. Too bad Carter tends to avoid automatic weapons, or this would be something to brag about.

"Hey!" He calls out to the bar's patrons, "Anyone need an M60?"

Hmm...a route map. Sec.Lab is dotted too.
Taking a look at the M60, that is lying on the table, Vik examines it.
Nice craftsmanship.

As Vik inspects the weapon, Carter calls over to him,

"All your my friend, just remember the favor..." He knocks back his drink.

On a sunny day, an old man aproaches an abandoned building.
The building looks, as if it has been abandoned for years. Graffity, metal plates around the windows, debris all over the place. The once magnificent 12 story hotel has became nothing but a rotting hole now.
Lookin up to the roof, the old man glares at the clear blue skies. So many years without them, it's so nice to finally see them again. Sun is shining, kids are playing behind the man, construction workers are busy renovating the buildings behind the old man.
The children and workers suddenly stop their doings to get a better look at the old man.
Long white hair, long white beard. Old black trenchcoat, in his right hand, there is an old gas mask. In his left, an old rusty sabre, with the engraving on it scratched and rusted, so it is impossible to read the message on it. The trenchcoat has two large letter on it, though the second is impossible to read. The first letter is a "B".
A small child aproaches the old man, telling him.
"Mister, are you going to get in that haunted building? Even though it's haunted with ghosts?"
"Yes child, for this has been my home for many years. It is not haunted, it has simply been forgotten. Now I must pay my final respects and live on with what is left of my life"
Old skelletons are inside the building. Some are still in clothes. Some are still in armour.
Rusted weapons all over the place.
Making his way upstairs, the old man notices a small skelleton, wearing a black LR8 reactive armour, and an old SMG, that looks like an UMP.
I have failed you. Forgive me, my friend...
Paying his respect to the skelleton, the old man continues his venture in the old forgotten building, with only a dim lighting flash light in hand.
Making his way to the top, which took the old man more, than it took years ago, he opens the door and passes the dead guards, that stood there to death, protecting the room, behind those doors.
A large room, covered in a large layer of dust, is seen infront of the old man. A skelleton, wearing, what looks like barmen clothes, is seemingly sitting behind the bartable.
He is all, that is left in the room.
Everyone is gone.
Everyone is dead.
Though not everyone here is present.
Some have been gone after the battle at the Sec. Lab.
Some have simply died after an un-succesfull loot run.
Some have stumbled upon side-effects of their "medicine".
Only the old man is standing in the building. Waiting.
He is all that is left, all, that is left of the old people, and he must end it. So he waits.
Waits for it to end.
So the new generation could take over and begin repopulating the planet. One continent at a time.
His objective for the people is complete and now he has no need to keep living.
So he waits.
Waits...
For a long time...
Then he closes his eyes...

The last moments of James Mason.....

James had lead the assault team down into the depth's of the Secronum facility in persuit of a force comprised of members from numerous clans, they had laid a trap for them in the lobby of the building, but after a full day of waiting the enemy had not shown themseles again, James had decided to move into the complex in persuit.

They met with no resistance all the way down, on the 12'th floor down however they came across an unnerving sight, the enemy were all dead, bodies lay brutally disfigured all over the corridor, empty shell casings lay everywhere, the unnerving thing was though that there were No dead infected, even a behemoth would have fallen to such a well armed and large group...

James ordered his men further into the facility, they descended down two more floors, the lack of infected presence was strange considering this was the source of the outbreak in the first place, there was a sudden sound of deep, heavy breathing heard, noone could tell what direction it came from but it put them all on their guard, the soldiers, despite their extreem mental training began to show signs of fear, James was the only one who seemed to keep his calm.

The sound continued, and didn't seem to get any louder or quieter wherever they moved, they checked every room along the way but there was nothing there, there was a sudden flash of movement and a soldier dissapeared, his dying screams could be heard echoing in the distance, gradually growing quieter, several soldiers opened fire in the general direction but hit nothing, before long another soldier was whisked off lightning quick by another black shadow, then another, and another.

Panic broke loose and the remaining men all ran off in different direction, most trying to get back to the exit, ll firing randomly as they went, James had removed his revolver from his holster and was crouched in a corner, ready to fire upon anything that came into view, something flashed past and modem fired, whatever it was was too quick and James missed, it flashed past again, this time closer and James missed again.

James frowned, the figure came rushing toward him this time, Modem fired once more, this time hitting whatever the thing was, it went flying backward for a spit second then moved off in another direction, James had cought a glimpse of the creature in the moment it was stationary, James's eyes were wide in shock and for the first time in as long as he could remember he began to feel fear, the creature was ghastly, its skin was deathly pale, it's eyes were glowing red with a small black pupil, and it's mouth....it's mouth was deformed, it stretched back at least twice what a normal human mouth size was, and it's teeth were jet black, it had set it's eyes on James in that split second and smiled, it was wearing the tattered remains of a lab coat, it probably used to be one of the scientists who worked here, off in the distance he could hear gunfire and the dying screams of his men.

James made a dash for an open door as the creature moved off, he had almost made it through when he felt a searing pain, he looked down and saw a clawed hand protruding from his stomach, it withdrew as fast as it had come, before collapsing James used the last of his strength to pull the door shut, it automatically locked into place, the door was made of glass but it was a type of shatterproof glass, James guessed it was a cell used to hold the early experiments in the lab, James crawled to the opposite side of the room and put his back to the wall as he sat looking at the door, the creature appeared on the other side of the glass almost instantly but made no move to attack or try to break through, it just stood there, staring with a hellish fanged smile, James looked down at his wound and saw something he did not like the look of, black vein's had begun working their way outward from the wound, spreading slowly, it was painfully obvious he was infected with something that would turn him into whatever that creature was that was staring at him through the door.

James pulled out his revolver and looked through the side barrell. "One left....How cliche.." he then looked at the creature with his usual cold emotionless stare restored to his face, without breaking the staring contest he had initiated, he removed his packed of smokes from his pocket, placed one in his mouth and light it, the creature cocked it's head, still with that permanent disfigured smile on it's face as if wondering what James was doing, James then did something he had not done since the start of the outbreak, he smiled, then the smile turned into hushed laughter, then grew louder, he couldn't stop laughing, he threw the butt of the smoke as hard as he could against the glass window in a last act of defiance "Too bad that crazy Russian bastered aint here to fix me up this time..." he said as a trickle of blood ran down his mouth, still smiling.

James lifted the barrel with great pain and placed the well polished gun to his head, the creature seemed to understand what James was about to do because it started banging against the glass with all it's might, a small crack appeared but the glass would hold up awhile before breaking, James thought about his friends who he would never see again, Flynn, Viktor, Ryan, Mel, everyone, he had failed them all utterly, yet all he could do was smile as he prepared to take his own life.

The smile faded from his face and was replaced by a look of utmost sadness as his thoughts moved to the only person he had ever loved in his life, the person that was taken from him soon after the outbreak started, a tear rolled down James's face, he closed his eyes and the last thing that he ever heard was a scream from the creature as it struggled to break through the door click he pulled the trigger and everything seemed to slow down, the force of the bullet pushed him to the left, he was still completley aware for a moment as he felt the bullet burst through the other side of his skull, everything began to fade to blackness as he fell, he could no longer hear the creature, could no longer see him, James's dead body slumped to the floor, he had slipped into everlasting darkness....

((FIEN HOFACE.))

Sabrina Donahue trudged up the steps of her grandfather's attic. I thought I was his favorite grandchild...why'd he leave me that dusty old trunk? The trunk was black and covered in layers of dust. As she brushed the top layer off, in bold white military letters the name "MEL" was visible, over the flowing emblem of a dragon. Sabrina coughed as she opened the trunk a a wave of dust attacked her lungs. On the top of the trunk was an archaic, pre-outbreak carbine assault rifle, an M4 she though. It would need a lot of cleaning before it as operational again. She placed it and a handful of magazines next to the trunk. Next was a black bulletproof vest and a black trenchcoat, both with the same emblem as the trunk. Sabrina's eyes grow wide as she recognises that emblem. The emblem of the Black Dragons. In her history class, Post-Outbreak I, her textbook had said the BD was an evil empire that terrorized Fairview before a coalition of clans banded together and overwhelmed them. She had never expected to be related to one of their number, especially not her good-natured grandfather, favorite of all her siblings. She franticly trudged through the mess of clothes and weapons until at the bottom, there was a book. An old journal, apparently stained with blood. On it was written in flowing letters "A History of the Black Dragons and our Empire, by Tratpan." Below, wirtten in the barely legible handwriting of her grandfather was "Epilogue by Nathan 'Mel' Donahue." Sabrina spent hours up there, reading that old book, until the epilogue.

"It's over. They came from all directions. Members of each and every clan that had been 'wronged' by us, every group that considered themselves 'good', every person who would believe anything that is told to them by a person with a podium and a microphone. Almost all of us are dead. Viktor and I are the only ones that I can see. Others might have made it out, but I can't find them. We agreed that it would be best to go our separate ways. To hide who we were, to make a new life. I have friends in Nastya's, I'm heading there. I'm not sure where Vik is going.

Unlike most history books, this one won't get larger over time. This one is finished. The Empire has completely fallen. I just hope that this book gets to someone truely good. Someone who won't throw it out becasue of the emblem on the cover. Someone who will treat it as it is, as a history. So that it can be passed down, so that the next time the world ends, the dragon will be reborn, and this time, I hope that it will not be opposed merely becasue we were dark, secrative, and thrived in the dark. Man has always hated and destoryed what it didn't understand. I hope this book makes it so that next time, the world will understand and the Dragon may rise again."

Sabrina lay back on the trunk and picked up a bladed weapon, a kukri, a now ancient weapon designed to chop off a limb. I understand. Wars don't decide who was right, only who gets to write the history book. I understand why this, all this, and this legacy, is mine now.
