I've gotta go with Detroit here. 20 years making it to the playoffs says something about your team and their front office. I think they are still a legitimate threat.

The Canadiens need to cut the dead-weight. I can't take them seriously with some of the moves they make. Gomez? He hasn't been ANYTHING since he was a Devil. I can understand chancing things out with Price, but I didn't like how they dropped Halak like they did. I do however think it was smart picking up Gionta. I was really sad to see him go. He was one of my favorites. $5 Million however may be a bit much, but I could never root against Gio. I can boo Scott "Benedit Arnold" Gomez at any time =P

This speculation is all as of this year, not their overall history. Thoughts?

Speaking of shaking up the whole team, how about Philadelphia? I have no clue what's going on there. They promised Carter that he wouldn't be traded. I seriously don't know what to expect from them at all. People still have them finishing at the top of the standings, but I just don't know about that, and this isn't the Devils fan in me talking.

On a Devils related note however, fans from other teams always say "Oh the Devils are stupid, Kovalchuk's contract will handcuff them for years blah blah blah." From a Devils fan perspective, his cap-hit is INCREDIBLE for what he can potentially bring to the team. His only problems are left over from his Atlanta days; He tries to carry the whole team on his shoulders, which NJ DOES NOT need him to do. Also, he wasn't very good at defense. Under Lemaire, he got better though, so I hope he continues to improve.

People shouldn't judge a 15 year contract by just one year where the WHOLE team (besides Elias <3 ) started out like garbage.

Hey Albel... I don't know if you noticed, but this thread is old, from when we had many members, many of which who cared about hockey. I'd talk about it with them, but apparently their accounts were deleted, so it looks like I'm talking to myself. Igor even talked hockey with me once, albeit briefly. So this thread is valid.

I posted in it to update it. Hockey season is over. I'm going to post in it every off-season. If you folks want to read it, great, but if not, you don't have to. It's not hurting anyone, and it's not rediculous like that "**** Size" thread.
