Cleaning

The forum will be undergoing maintenance as things progress forward. SMF2 is a little buggy on our forum, and I will be working to iron out some of those bugs, and to restore the forum to a similar and familiar home for us to the one that we used to have.

Ohhhh yeah in that way....just playing.

My connection is very unstable now, I need help from someone who knows computers ASAP before my connection knocks out again.

My problem is my wireless can detect every other wireless network, but my own modem. It will sometimes find it, then it will either say it can't find it or it'll connect for maybe a few hours and then knock out again. Anyone got any ideas?

The answer is not to use wireless modems unless absolutely necissary.

It is absolutely necessary, my modem can only plug in 2 Ethernet cords and 1 is being used by my mom's work laptop and the other is for my PS3 which I refuse to take out.

a modem that splits itself?
anyway

1.) press the start button (assuming you have windows)
2.) type cmd and click run
3.) in the black window type ipconfig
4.) write down and remember the default gateway (that's the modem)
5.) to continue I need to know if you have xp or vista

I have vista (garbage I know). The problem seems to be my computer because my mom's laptop, my dad's laptop and my PS3 can find the wireless signal, but my laptop can't seem to find it or if it does not for long.

its probably an issue with your IP address configuration either it's conflicting with another on the network or its invalid to the network, just try right clicking on the wireless network icon on the bottopm right and click repair, or repair connection

Buy a router. Unplug the PS3 (TEMPORARILY), plug in the router to that port. Then plug the PS3 and your computer into the router.
