Cleaning

The forum will be undergoing maintenance as things progress forward. SMF2 is a little buggy on our forum, and I will be working to iron out some of those bugs, and to restore the forum to a similar and familiar home for us to the one that we used to have.

Modem monitored the progress of the invasion on the enemy command ship, the Shadow of Intent, several error screens currently showed up on the wall monitor, it seems the drop pods were no longer functioning, and the cause was unknown.

"Hmmph..."

Modem frowned, he keyed in several commands.

The CCM Capitol ship hovering just 50 metres above the hull of the Shadow of Intent suddenly opened the lower hanger bay doors, all of them, and from there, CCM troops, impervious to the vacuum of space, began to drop, falling slowly, and landing on the hull of the Shadow of Intent, they swarmed on the outside, moving to designated locations, some began to plant small, flat devices in places, and after stepping back, the devices seemed to melt, they turned to plasma, which then began to chew it's way through the hull of the Shadow of Intent, not long after, the hull had been breached in several places, and the holes were large enough for the CCM drones to drop through, which is exactly what they did, the attack continued.

Turning his attention to the squadron sent to attack one of the remaining shield stations, Modem changed his frown to a grin, this squadron had caused him trouble in the past, they were part of the Shadow forces elite.

"The station has served it's purpose admirably..."

Modem tapped several buttons on the keypad built into his command chair without even looking at it, the Station which Wolf and his troops were attacking suddenly came to life, it began pulsating green, and after a few moments, the Station stopped powering the shield around the planet, and raised a new shield, which encompassed the station, Wolf and his forces, and the battle drones.

"That takes care of you..."

The Station was powered with a ZPM (Zero Point Module), an extremely potent, but also unstable power source, if the station were destroyed, or the Reactor were disabled, the Zero Point energy that had been tapped would have nowhere to go, and the resulting explosion would be rather large.

Normally, the explosion would be easy to outrun in a ship of any size, but now that the shield had been raised, escaping the explosion would be impossible, even if the station were destroyed, the shield would remain for at least three minutes before it collapsed, due to the excess energy already contained within it, and by then, anything inside the shield would be vaporized.

Wolf and his forces were effectively cut off from the rest of the battle, their only option, apart from blowing themselves up, was to stay put and fend off constant drone attacks launched from the station.

Meanwhile, the Ilath forces were making good on their allegiance to Modem, cutting a swath of death through the Alliance forces from the front, while taking moderate losses of their own, the speed and power of their craft could match anything in the Allied Armada, Modem watched with satisfaction as several Ilath Cruisers finished off a Human Battleship, the hulking metal ship buckled, then exploded.

Back in the Shadow of Intent, Three figures uncloaked behind the Grand Templar as he entered one of the larger rooms, they moved silently and swiftly, each was identical to the next, they were the CCM's newest weapon, the Advanced Assasination Cyborg, specially designed to eliminate enemy leaders, powerful, fast, semi-intelligent, and extremely durable, they were extremely expensive to produce resource-wise, so they were never put into mass production.

Each one stared coldly at the Grand Templar for a moment, then, in unison, their blades came forward, pointed at their enemy, and around them, a green aura appeared, a powerful personal shield, after another split second, they jumped into action, all attacked from different directions, one from the Templar's left, one from his right, and the last from directly head on.
