Cleaning

The forum will be undergoing maintenance as things progress forward. SMF2 is a little buggy on our forum, and I will be working to iron out some of those bugs, and to restore the forum to a similar and familiar home for us to the one that we used to have.

James moved to the chair. Despite the overall rotten smell of the house, the chairs and couch smelled of mildew and ****. This is disgusting he thought to himself as he lifted the seat coushins. Nothing but lint.

Ryan watched as James began searching the chairs, so he moved straight to the firepit. Old ash and charcoal littered the stones inside. A small glint of metal caught his attention. Ryan bent down and grabbed a key from the ash. He brushed the black ash from it. "I wonder what this goes to..." he said aloud softly.

James began to push the couch towards the main door, Carter came over to assist but wasn't able to help much. The couch screeched as its legs drug across the dirty, wooden floor. After much struggling, the two of them were able to barricade the front double doors with the couch.

With their task completed, James spoke up, "We should split up in groups and search the house to make sure its safe."

"I think we should stick together. The ground floor should be searched first." Ryan said as he pocketed the fireplace key.

"Yeah, I agree with Ryan. We should check the garage." Nathan said.

"You guys are right," James had forgotten he was with a group a kids and leaving them would be a bad idea. "Let's stick together, splitting up is what they always do in the horror movies where everyone ends up dying."

"Let's just hope we don't end like they do." Carter said as he silently made his way towards the dining room. Inside the dining room was a large table surrounded by chairs. The table itself was bland except for a box of matches and a half drank, but recorked bottle of wine. A thin coat of dust covered everything but the two items on the table. Carter turned to his right to see an opening that led to the kitchen. A back door leading outside was visible in the kitchen from Carter's point of view.

The rest of the group had traveled towards the garage, unaware that Carter was left behind. In the hallway to it, they passed a door, but they ignored it for now. Nathan reached the door leading to the garage first. He opened it and was met with pitch blackness. A few light switches on the wall in the hallway where flipped off. Nathan reached over and flicked them up. Nothing happened. Power in the house must be out.

"I'm not going in there unless we can see. You guys can go. But Carrie and I are staying here." Sarah said with a sterness to her voice.
