"Screw my mansion! Everyone get to the house!" Ryan yelled as he hobbled to the house.
"Yeah, Get the hell in there!" James replied as he physically moved those Carrie as Sarah tugged on her arm. Carter stayed back behind the group with him to make sure everyone made it to the house.
The old porch creaked as Ryan ran up the stairs and to the double, faided red doors. The handle compressed and flunged outwards as he pulled, not even wanting to question what would happen to them if the doors were locked. A wash of warm, stale air rushed over the group.
"Oh God..." Sarah gagged as she doubled over. "Get inside!" James screamed as he pushed everyone inside the dark, foul smelling house.
"It smells like roadkill!" Ryan gasped as he pulled his shirt over his nose. It didn't help the smell any.
Carter slammed the doors behind them and dead bolted the lock. "Something definitely died in here."
"Is everyone alright?" Ryan asked as his eyes adjusted in the dark house. Everyone either nodded, said "yeah," or just remained silent.
"I knew life here would be exciting..."
"It's about to get better, I'm sure." replied James.
With the groups eyes' adjusted, they were able to make out the following details about the house.
They were currently in a large living room with two couches and two chairs all oriented around a fireplace at the opposite side of the room from them. To their right, was an open doorway that lead to a closed door and a hallway. Nathan peaked into the open doorway to see yet another door at the end of the hallway. The floor was dirty there and old shoes lay by it, probably an entrance to the garage.
To the front left of them, was a stairway leading upwards. Underneath it was a door that possibly led to a storage area or basement.
To their immediate left was another open doorway. Ryan peaked inside to see a dining room and another open doorway.
A nonspecific search by Carter and James revealed no visible weapons in their immediate area.
The smell apparently made Carrie sick because she bent over and vomited on Sarah's shoes.
"It's okay." Sarah said as she held Carrie's hair back. Carter, always the observer, looked upwards and noticed the ceiling of the living room extended all the way up to the ceiling of the second floor. The window Carrie claimed to have seen the figure in was at least fifteen feet off the ground from the first floor, Apparently it was there for nothing but looks because no one could actually stand and look out unless they were a giant or flying. He merrily shrugged it off as delusions of a teenage girl under stress.
