I read down to what you posted on the heavy trooper. Believe it or not the M60 was designed to be used by a single soldier. It weighs only 7 pounds, and the type of ammo it uses, the 5.56mm NATO only has 5lbs of recoil, which the weight of the gun helps to counteract, along with the forarm grip that is on most models. It was originally made because the US wanted what was at the time a "Super Gun" to fight against the German FG42, which was the compact and very movable version of the MG42. The M60 could quite truly be used by a single mobile person.
