Welcome to the wonderful town of Ladder City! The town was founded 1853, six years before the Oregon Territory became a state. It started off as a way point for the gold miners that arrived from California and the Pacific Ocean before they headed off into the mountains. Because of this, many of the historical buildings that still stand are saloon/motel in style(Be sure to check out the Triple Branch Hitching Post during your stay!). During the early years of the town's founding, the population was at a staggering 20 thousand on average. Only five percent of the total population actually lived in Ladder City while most were miners and peddlers. Today, the population has dropped to a steady, yet dispersed 10,000. The town's western border is a rocky cliff drop of over fifty feet to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean below, giving a beautiful view of the sunset. The eastern side of Ladder City is bordered by Heaven's Mountains. The sun in the morning burns through the fog of these snow capped mountains, revealing a magnificent view for the inhabitants of Ladder City. The forest that surrounds the entire town is composed mainly of the majestic redwood trees and Douglas firs. Average weather during the summer is chilly mornings and nights with average 75 degree days with a cool breeze flowing constantly from the west. Rainy seasons do occur mostly in the winter and spring times. Local attractions go from the local Ladder Movie Theater in the town square to the Native American Cave dwellings located north eastern part of the town. Be sure to check out Rung Park as well!
