Cleaning

The forum will be undergoing maintenance as things progress forward. SMF2 is a little buggy on our forum, and I will be working to iron out some of those bugs, and to restore the forum to a similar and familiar home for us to the one that we used to have.

First thing I would like to say is this.

FF is not a seperate clan from BD. there are people that run it and they run it how the leader of BD wants it run, that is how its been done since Vorax had me ressurect it, but im betting it was similar when it was first created.

There is room for judgment calls and alterations but basically the head of it all has the final say. and if he/she wants something changed then it needs to be changed. No aguments. you can make suggestions, otherwise you obey, and that is how things run smooth. At least thats how things ran well when Vorax was in charge and I did whatever he needed me to do.

FF was put in place because BD took in only the elite and made them better and FF was needed to bring in the lower level players and newbs and show them how to be better, and if they didn't cut it they were removed.

FF was like an army and only the best in FF were considered for BD and it was more than just level and gear, at least when I brought people from FF to BD.

The only people that should be in BD and FF at the same time is the leader of BD and those that that individual designates as in charge.

For instance. I was in BD, HO, Voraxs go to guy. and I was in charge of FF, I brought in blaqk and gregg. they were in charge of different things. smooth and simple, I just oversaw everything to make sure things stayed running smoothly.

A smooth running clan doesnt need to have its leader micro managing all the **** time. the leader should be able to take a vacation without **** hitting the goddamn fan.

Honestly if I was in Jarkis position I wouldnt be here trying to do damage control, I would say a few words, and leave, take my vacation and then deal with it when I got back. because by then the shitstorm would have calmed down a bit.

I don't know about now, but back in the day FF was ment to be a portal to BD and only those people got to the highest rank in ff.

Patrick, to bring FF back to it's golden days, no changes need to be made.  We must simply keep things as they were.

Everyone, go read the **** announcement.

I will ALWAYS take Black Dragons word into consideration.  Not merely because Jarki and the Head Order are MY superiors, but because I respect them.  I am still new to this.  I have always purposely tried to stay away from leadership positions and tried to be the guy that everyone liked.  Not anymore.  What I say, goes.  If you have a problem with it then bring it to me via private message.  Jarki, if something needs to be done or dealt with, send me and e-mail or message and 9/10 it will be done.

I also agree with Jarki, that this kind of trial system would be good for the higher ranks.

Like Jarki said, this isnt Dusk.

I strongly reccomend you have the new rooks do something easier and have the higher ranks to do the Path. Why?

Let me put it this way: having the rooks do the Path makes the new FF another Dusk clan. And what happened to Dusk? It died. Why? Because people go through horrific odds and endure the craziest tasks, only to then have nothing else to do afterwards.

BD wont babysit FF, but that doesnt mean, that our opinion should be ignored.

That's really not why Dusk died, Dusk died due to the leadership becoming inactive and everyone deciding to stop recruiting. A Set of trials does not determine if a clan lives or dies. Also I would like everybody to look at DRLP, Dark Sector, VOID and the like. I'm pretty sure the things you have to do are considered a little more then difficult, yet they as clans survive. Why is that? They have an active membership and leadership, and people are attracted to that. The Path gives the recruits something to keep them busy for a bit as well as helps us determine who the better players are.

Anyway my main point is this, this is not by any means difficult for the sole reason that there are no specific things that need to be done. I did not ask for them to level to 50, only to level more than their peers. I did not ask them to loot a level 100 weapon, only to have a bigger cash gain than their peers. And I most certainly did not tell them to win TPK only to kill more than their peers. I truly do not understand what you guys find so difficult about this trial.

FF =/= DRLP or VOID.

There's your problem.

DUSK died because of a bunch of factors.

Lack of activity amongst the clan due to inactive leaders.

Lack of recruits due to no one wanting to jump through the hoops we set up for them to get access/progress.

And multiple other aspects.

The thing is, STP. What you're suggesting, you're not considering the fact that these are Level 15 people who probably don't even know if they truly want in this clan. To throw them into a scenario where they're forced to do something they might not necessarily want to do, will instantly kill their interest.

You want to bring them into a fun, welcoming atmosphere. You want them to enjoy their time here, to stay. THEN, we start the improvement process, let them grow within Dead Frontier.

As I said, so many times. It belongs at a higher ranking area. FF has never, ever made anyone jump through hoops just to get in the clan. And I plan on it never, ever doing it in the future.

You want to judge them on their abilities based on other people in the same threshold? Then simply watch their progress. Never, ever make someone who isn't loyal and committed, to jump through a hoop. You will just scare them away.

Questions?

This is all true.  I am still on the fence with this suggestion.  I like that it gives them something to do and keeps them active while we work out who goes where and who just doesn't fit.  I also see what Jarki means about this scaring off potential recruits.  When I joined, you could be a fostern from the Get-Go if you were high enough level.  You could even be a level 50 and still be a fostern if you did not prove yourself for the other ranks.

I'm going to have to sleep on this, and if at all possible, I would like to talk to both STP and Jarki in a chat.  This will have to be set up, however, so obviously not tonight.

Jarki, you have to realize something. Now, I understand you want to affect the goings on a FF, being the leader of BD, however... we, as the Elder Council wish to revitalize this clan, and bring it back into its golden days. But to do this, some changes must be made. We simply wish to attempt to implement a new system and see how it works, if it fails, so be it.

However, not to sound cliche, but don't knock it till you try it. Give it a chance, we've taken what you've said into consideration, however the leadership of FF wants to actually do something. Again, what's the point of being in a leadership position if our decisions are simply vetoed? I appologize if I am stepping outside of my bounds, I just feel that I need to speak my opinion as a member of the Elder Council.

I love this clan, I've loved this clan for years, it it my child, and I WILL not see it die again.

This is a decision to be made solely by the Fenrir's Fangs Leadership, you guys may influence decisions but you do not dictate them other than who progresses from FF to BD. Black Dragon and Fenrir's Fangs are two completely different clans with two seperate leaders under the same banner. I do appreciate the input that Black Dragon has given on the matter but you cannot always expect for it to be taken into 100% consideration.

Alright, ignore the Black Dragons. Fine by me.
And I do not appreciate this comment for the fact that it is an unfair thing to post. Saying something like this guilts/scares us into changing our decision because you dont like it, and quite frankly is not cool.

Yes, what hoop would they be jumping through? One that is practically touching the ground? As far as the comment regarding the recruits being all level 15, would that not make this easier on them since they are being compared to other level 15's? Leveling I would assume they do regardless otherwise I don't want them in the clan, looting I would assume they do as well or again I do not want them in the clan, and pvp is just an extra trial thrown in to see who's decent at it. I've also said this a number of times that this has only gotten a positive response from all the higher ups in FF and I think we should give a chance to succeed before we decide it fails. To immediately reject something like this just because you think it's too hard is not the right way to go about anything. I say recruit a number of lone wolves and put them through the path and if it succeeds then keep it if it fails go about recruitment differently. And for the record, I did not say ff was equal to void or drlp I was saying that difficulty to get into a clan does not kill it.

I just leveled up 3 times in about a 3-4 days with a level 26-30 alt. And I haven't looted much, but yeah, the leveling part is cake.

It's not like they actually have to pass The Path.
They just have to put as much effort in it as possible.

Also, Dusk didn't just die for that reason. It also died because we had no stern leaderships, and people stopped caring about it over all. All our leaders disband the clan and that is why Dusk died.

Those trials don't even look that hard. Lvling once when level 15 takes like one extermination mission.
