Cleaning

 The forum will be undergoing maintenance as things progress forward. SMF2 is a little buggy on our forum, and I will be working to iron out some of those bugs, and to restore the forum to a similar and familiar home for us to the one that we used to have.

Feh idk, it just looks weird that your 3 tools are mere BLADES. Hell a sledgehammer can bust through a door, window or drywall if you need to make an exit at least. Just sayin to make your tools ACTUAL tools

Backstory:  He was alone.  He had gotten left by his family at the age of 13.  That is what he had been told at least, probably to make him feel better.  What had probably happened happens everyday.  Coming from a lower class family he had probably been abandoned to save money and he knew this.  Now was his chance to make something of himself, to get a better life and help his country at the same time.

A.)Geography

The geography of the 20x20 mile wide area the testing will be taking place in has three main types of enviroment listed below.

-The Great Forest:
The Great Forest was originally a national wildlife reservation before the depression and second civil war.  Now, after hundreds of years with no human interaction, the endangered animals of the times before the war have likely boomed in population.  This would probably be your best bet for fresh meat and water.  Running straight through the Great Forest is the SC's half of what used to be the Mississippi river, an actuall extention of the Wissconson river, renamed after the Second Civil War in an attempt to get the citizens to forget the south completely.

-The Highlands:
The Highlands are to the immediate east of the entrance pont.  These hills are filled with natural caves, hot springs, and small rivers.  Extremely dangerous, these should be explored with caution and are not recomended for single pioneers.  Multiple millitary forts were set up within these hills.

-The Grasslands:
To the far south of the testing area is a large flat grassland.  Little is known about these grasslands other than the fact that it was filled large amounts of small towns, long abandoned.  These towns may be worth looking into for usefull items.

This section of the phamplet is filled with the known wildlife of the area you will be making a new life in.  The list will give you the animal and were they are thought to live.

C.)What To Watch For

While you are in the Wastes, keep an eye out for the bio-creatures creeated during the war.  These creatures are among some of the deadliest that you will find.  They can also, however, be of great help to you if you know what you are doing.  Follow them from a little ways off while they hunt.  Attempting to tame them is NOT advised, however.  The last thing you are to watch for are signs that could have led to the disapearence of the Second Confederation and the Humans of the SC at that time.  For each piece of usefull information you will be given a reward based upon how large it is.  So, keep your eyes open, and enjoy your new start!

  In the year 2186 the United States fell, billions in debt and in a state of depression yet again.  In the midst of the depression political corruption, unfair ration distribution, and increased poverty brought in the era of a great war.  This war was not with those of foreign countries or planets, as many consperecy theorists preached, but with the peoples of the country itself.  A new civil war.

  The war lasted forty years, and in that time the Second Confederation had risen in power.  The union had tried everything they could to stop it, but nothing worked.  Not the biologically engineered animals they used, the newly developed transportation and weapons, or even their spies sent in to try and cripple the enemy government entirely.  Then one day, just as victory for SC was in grasp, they vanished.  All living humans living within the SC were gone without a trace.  Scared that the cause for this was a secret weapon gone wrong, the reborn USA built a fifty foot wall seperating the two halves of the country. This is were you come in.

  The year is now 2234, little over 200 years after the war ended and the wall was built.  Now deaming the former SC safe and fit for inhabitants, the US is allowing its citizens to move to it.  The first pioneers are those of the lower classes of america, eager for a new start and willing to put in a bit of hard work to make it for themselves.  You are one of those pioneers.  As a pioneer to this "New Land" you are not bound by the rules of the Old Country, America.  Before your entrance into the former SC, you will be given a weeks worth of supplies, including two weapons for hunting and protection, and whatever else you would need.  How will you make your new life with millions of mutated beasts running around, and possibly even remenants of the SC.  Will you be an outlaw or a protector for the weak among you?  A lone wolf or a group leader?  The possibilities are endless, and there is noone there to tell you what to do.

Along with this, you will also be aloud to bring a few personal affects and whatever clothes feel are needed.  If you wish clothes will be supplied at the waypoint.  As this is a test to see if the SC is a livable enviroment, you will be asked to stay withing a 5x5 mile wide area.

Starting Weapons:

A.) Primary Weapons

HN9500 Hunting Rifle - This Smith & Wesson hunting rifle fires .30 caliber rifle rounds.  This model has been specialy modified by the US Government, adding a longer, more durable barrel for higher accuracy.  The sniper scope and bipod come stock on this special millitary version. Easy to clean and maintain, this rifle was made to withstand long periods of time in harsh enviroments.  The only notable downside of this gun is the fact that it is bolt action.  Five round Capacity

M22 Tactical Shotgun - Benelli originally created this shotgun for the New Union army.  This tactical shotgun fired 00 Buckshot Shells.  The M22 has been outfited with a narrow bore to give less spread and increased accuracy, along with a digital red dot sight and forearm grip.  Semi-Auto fire, this gun is one of the more compicated guns to clean and maintain.  Very reliable if kept realativley clean, 7 round magazine.

XM12 Assult Rifle - A newer varriant on the classic XM8 assult rifle that was issued to the US troops in 2012 to replace the M16.  The rifle is made of a very durable plastic developed by NASA to protect their shuttles from debre in space.  This gun is light weight and compact and fires the 5.62mm rifle rounds.  It has been modified with a forearm grip, retractable stock, and laser sight.  Portable, easy to maintain, user friendly.  Fires Semi-Auto ONLY.  30 Round Magazine.

GS985 Solar Ray-  This antique gun was made during the begining of the second civil war by a German company.  Firing superheated waves at near the speed of light.  This gun was taken out of millitary hands as the way it killed was deemed a crime of war, leaving the injured half cooked and in seering pain.  This gun is 12 IBS, but uses no ammo.  It has a large solar panel on the top of it to supply it with energy.  As long as the solar panel is kept clean it will work.  Has a backup cell for night time use, good for 500 shots.  Near NO maintenence, no ammunition needed.  Cook and kill your food at the same time on high intensity.

TRSG9800 GPS System - A wrist mounted GPS system.  This is standard issue for the US scouts.  Produces holographic maps, compass, weather conditions, radar, and health information of you and others programmed into it.  Contains a Tracking System that is monitered in the US.  Tracking system is used to provide dropoffs of supplies when needed.

NV12 Glasses - Using holographic imaging of the surrounding area, these glasses super magnify the minute amounts of lite to make night as bright as day.  Can also be used as a regular pair of sunglasses.  Power switch for night vision can be found on either side of the top visor.

FSK9 Medical Kit - Used by the field medics during the Second Civil War, this kit comes stocked with everything ou would need.  Complete with Triple Anitbiotic Ointment, Nano Medbots, Stasis Modules, Bandages, Splints, and much more.
